KYOTO TRAVEL TIPS
A short, calm guide to landing, getting around, and where to rest your head.

Our wedding planner has prepared a Google Maps list of recommended hotels. Kyoto is compact and very taxi-friendly, so most central areas are convenient. Best locations for accessibility: Sanjo / Karasuma Oike / Kawaramachi.
Anywhere in central Kyoto will be convenient. Airbnb is also a good option for larger groups.
Trains and local buses run throughout Kyoto, but they may get crowded and stops can be quite far from your final destination. Google Maps is very reliable in Japan — use it as your reference for routes and timing. Sometimes it's easier to travel by taxi, especially if you can share with a group — we particularly recommend it for getting to the museum for the ceremony.
Easiest options are ride-hailing apps: Uber, DiDi, or GO Taxi. All our venues are close to each other — for reference, a taxi from Ace Hotel to the museum is approx. a 10 min ride and under ¥1,800 (~$12 USD / ~HK$90).
We've created a WhatsApp Community for all wedding guests — the easiest place for updates, questions, and coordination during the Kyoto celebrations.
